Wanted to point out something that will likely appear in future comics and every time I mention in real life them people seem to get confused so here is a small doodle dump on throwing sticks.
They go by tons of names and designs, the most well known being the Boomerang. But they are something that has appeared on every continent, being used for literally tens of thousands of years in our own history. But in basic a throwing stick is what it says on the lable... A stick, you throw it, it's great.
Throwing sticks are made out of hardwood and can have sharp points or metal reinforced contact points, but most are hardwood that is shaped to impact with as much force as possible. The size and design of the throwing stick informs what you're meant to throw it at, from small sticks for smaller game that stun them and allow a hunter to catch up to large heavy sticks that are more meant to break the bones of larger creatures.
Likewise the shapes and complexity can vary, a simple throwing stick is just a reasonably sized, hefty and thick stick that flies well whereas many throwing sticks can be carved into carefully made airfoils that can "hover" across a flat plain or even gain lift and rise into the air for better accuracy or to hunt birds. So throwing sticks, if made well can have a shockingly long and accurate range and can outrange well made atlatl darts. many throwing sticks, particularly heavier ones, are not meant to fly such incredible distances though, being heavier, tend to be a lot more dangerous.
Throwing sticks are usually thrown on a horizontal axis parallel to the ground but throwing them vertically or with a sharp diagonal bend are fine too, its a stick just throw it well.
Drekir are, as stated previously with javelins and Atlatls, deceptively good at throwing thanks to the speed and momentum they can transfer into a projectile via their leg muscles. So it should be no surprise that throwing sticks are another very common weapon used by drekir societies across most of the Dragonscape. They quick to make, effective, and easier to carry when compared to atlatls or javelins. So many societies have adopted various types and styles of throwing sticks for hunting and warfare. They are also a popular weapon to use against sivilão realms in regions where the sivilão are a problem thanks to blunt force hurting regardless of how bulletproof your armor is.
So yeah nifty little throwing sticks, might make one myself! Add a couple of those to my two atlatls
