Harlequin is the deity of desire, a tricky wish-granting figure who may choose to grant your wish outright or throw in an unpleasant little twist — it all depends on how you comport yourself. Here, they pour out a measure of alcohol to remind us to stay in flow and practice moderation in all things — including moderation.
It took a dramatic shift in background, pose, composition, and character design, but I've finally reached a version of this card that I'm actually happy with!
