I love this view of my Applause Elite acoustic bass. I fell in love with the Vintage Varnish finish on the spruce top. The Elite soundhole pattern (just visible up by the neck) is a signature Ovation guitars feature. This baby looks great next to my Elite 6-string, mandolin, and ukulele. I updated my OLD FAMILY PORTRAIT to include this newest member. The update is HERE.

This is a terrific angle! Not just for getting up close and personal to that lovely wooden finish, but also to see the strings getting larger the further away from the camera. A fine trio from an excellent photograburr! ^__^

Ah, thanks so much for your comment. The apparent string size is an unusual effect. Normally, one would expect them to decrease in size with distance, but the blurring as they lose focus actually makes them appear larger.

I love the applause acoustics. The sound of the Ovation, but at lower cost.

Except for models made in the custom shop, I think that all Ovation, Applause, and Celebrity models are now assembled in somewhere Asia. Besides this bass, I also have an Applause tenor ukulele and an Applause travel guitar.
