To speak of my world is to speak of a planet that even living for decades with immortality ahead of me, I've barely scratched the surface of all the various lives and lifeforms on it due to its sheer vastness. Three times the size of Earth is a good comparison for most. While I, as a skyborn dragon, can go almost anywhere, one place where my knowledge is weakest (and thus, I most seek to learn more of) is those who live under the Great Sea that bridges the Old World with Orokol, the New World.
Though I have a friend also of draconic persuasion who lives in the oceans, such is the Great Sea's size that even he'd likely spend centuries trying to explore and discover all the points of interest in the ocean so vast that even the Land of Might's magitek steam ships take eight months to cross it. Sometimes though, in cases like these, new discoveries come to me instead of me to them.
I was making my first voyage to Orokol on a steam ship when we were beset by a ship sailing black flags. As the sailors readied to defend the ship and I stretched my wings to rain fiery death on them for their poor decisions (and life choices), there were sudden screams and the entire ship listed sharply to one side, followed by a bubble from beneath the waves as the entire boat (of non-dismissable size) completely capsized and within moments had sank, none of its crew treading water.
Just when we were all collecting ourselves after witnessing the sight, the waters near our ship exploded upward and this woman landed on the deck, giving a smile with more razor-sharp teeth than even I have and a few people tied up with ropes. She introduced herself to the guarded and nervous crewman as a pirate hunter and with an aggressive tone noted that the men she brought with her were people she found in the ship's brig. She reasoned she couldn't know if they were disobedient crewmen, prisoner of war or slaves, so she figured she'd go ahead and bring them to the civilian ship that was about to be attacked. In disbelief, one of the crewman asked if she was the one that sank the ship. Her sharp grin on her face, she took full credit for it by mentioning she came at it from below and ripped out specific boards of the hull, doing critical damage in moments.
Leaving her tag-alongs, she was about to jump back into the water when I asked if she was available to talk to more, as an impulse I usually feel when meeting new and (I feel) interesting people. With a laugh she observed my wings and noted that meant I could probably catch up with the ship so she pointed towards a barren island just barely peeking out of the water. After confirming my ship wouldn't get too far away for me to fly back to for several hours, I took her up on that and flew to the island, where she met me just a few moments later.
Once conversation started up proper, she was quick to introduce herself as "Irukandji", or Iruka for short. Once my Sea Dragon friend told me there's entire societies and kingdoms below the waves, as there are above, filled with merfolk and fish-flavored anthros, so I knew she was from one race of shark people from her teeth alone, and claws that look like they could even cut my scales. I gathered as much information as I could in our short time and got a feel for her personality in the time we had together before I had to go fly back to the ship.
She was a knight from an undearsea kingdom not terribly far from where my serpentine friend lives (in fact, when I informed her of who I knew who knew of the sea nations, she was briefly shocked I was on speaking terms with him. I wonder if the sea-dwellers have a similar view towards Sea Serpents as land-dwellers do my species) and patrols the seas looking for ships flying black flags to tear apart for bounty and supplies to take back home, stealing from thieves and visiting justice at the same time. When I noted she had no weapons on her person, she just grinned at me and flashed her hands open, suggesting she eschews weaponry in favor of her teeth and claws... which meant she quite literally tore the ship apart with her bare hands.
She was aggressively forward and struck me as being quite hot-blooded and impulsive, fascinated in me and my form from having little interaction with those who live above the waves that didn't result in people getting torn to shreds or drowning. In return for information about me, I asked for a bit more about her, especially her name, which I knew roughly from reading biological research books.
As a child, she told me, she was already one of the toughest around, but was always looked down on as a kid for her youth and her impulsiveness. Proving both points, she joked, she chose to make her point by swimming through an entire Bloom of Irukandji jellyfish (I wouldn't advise looking up what even one sting does to a person, much less swimming through an entire swarm of them) and nearly died, spending months comatose. When she came out of it, she had actually taken, adapted and started generating their particular paralytic venom in her blood, which she uses to ward off literal and metaphorical "bigger fish" while swimming the deep. She also used that as pure fact she was the toughest around, a challenge she takes very seriously.
A big grin still on her features, she bid me farewell and leapt backwards into the ocean, vanishing under the crystalline blue water with blinding speed. Bidding her farewell, I flew back to the boat to continue my journey, though mentioned since she lives near my friend's territory, if she ever wanted to meet up on a beach, she'd know roughly where to find me.
She's an interesting sort, and a wellspring of knowledge about worlds I'll likely never get to experience, so I look forward to our future meetings.

So then! One more impulse buy for the year, I do like shark girls, who doesn't? So when I saw this lady as an adopt, I decided to buy her then and there and make her mine.
For some miscellaneous facts - she's 8"6', pansexual, and loves to fight, which if done on amicable terms turns into a weird mix of fighting and flirting. She's always looking to challenge herself, and luckily the ocean provides plenty of challenges for her.
