Original lineart comissioned from

Wow, just wow. I have good thoughts about all my pieces as I work on them, but this one just exceeded all my expectations. When I finally zoomed out on it to preview it, I thought to myself, "Holy shit, this is going to be flipping awesome.....", and it is. I tried a new style of shading out on this picture and I think it came out wonderful.
On to the symbolism in this picture. Depending on what religion or culture you are, many things will vary on what they stand for.
The lotus can stand for many things, hilariously enough it stands for virginity in one culture, while in another standing for the opening of the womb in another. You can guess which one it stands for in this picture......
The one to the left is the teacher/midwife. Her robes are indigo with purple trim. The indigo symbolizes spirituality and wisdom. The purple symbolizes sensuality, spirituality, wisdomand enlightenment.
The one to the right is the student. Her robes are a mixture of pink, green and white. The pink symbolizes femininity, health, romance and joy. The green symbolizes spring, fertility, youth and good luck. She's having twins so that's where the fertility and good luck come in. The white symbolizes life, youth and hope.
