Another character drawn for
ElCid's monster fighting game OC-verse.
Inari is known to many as the harvest goddess of the Shinto religion. Japan's people have worshipped and given thanks to her for over two millennia, countless shrines have been established dedicated to her, and whole battles between rural communities have erupted in the past over the "correct" way to view and honor her, even over whether she's a woman at all. The people seem to be unaware, however, that their beloved goddess has been living among them for a long time now, and for over 300 years, she's resided in a large shrine in Kyoto, watching over everyone in the form of a stunningly beautiful kitsune. Few aside from the family who's managed the shrine for generations have had the privilege of directly meeting her, a charming British cecaelia named Edith being one of them, and those who catch a glimpse of her when visiting her shrine usually write her vulpine appearance off as a trick of the mind. Kitsune magic takes care of the rest, as she casts an illusion over herself to make humans perceive her as a human when she ventures into town, and she often takes things further by posing as a miko working at her own shrine, making herself look a bit different to the humans' minds every so often to avoid suspicion. Recently, she's sensed something very off about the flow of the world's energies... Something big has arrived and is gaining power, and without the right actions taken, this something could mark the end of humanity and also be bad news for all the nonhumans as well. Inari began to plan out how best to combat this foe and save countless innocent lives...
