I wanted to make this part of a species guide but I havent had the chance to. So have this by itself!

Aelrok are a race on the world Auba Sol. Fully feathered and adorned with a crown of feathers on the head as well as a fan of feathers along the tail. they are flightless and their culture is based around their appetite.

they are somewhat taller than humans. And have a habit of eating other races or creatures whole, but still favor prepared food and drink. Usually they eat their enemies. But many believe that devouring a powerful creature bestows them the creature's power. Because of this Nobles often pay large sums of money in the black market to devour the offspring of a strong beast or even that of another race.

The majority of the Aelrok in Auba Sol practice slavery of smaller races if they don't outright consume it on the spot. Though there are many who reject this culture. As such a non-aelrok is usually in danger in the aelrok country and capital.

Aside from that they are typically found in tropical regions and males and females resemble color patterns of real world birds of all kinds.

Losing the weight they gain is common among commoners, as there is great risk in attempting to take down and devour another creature. therefore the opportunity is infrequent and the time between major consumption is large.
furthermore, Auba sol is a Dangerous world, so keeping in fit is detrimental to your survival. An aelrok will spend a lot of time and effort maintaining their desired weight for this purpose, as well as desired appearance. Due to this, the typical life style of an Aelrok, noble or commoner, is usually active. However, there are cases of an aelrok maintaining a higher weight as a sign of their success if they are confident in their skills to not be hindered.
