It's a case of having to name just so many different species. In entomology naming new species becomes a chore, not a reward as it is in many other areas of biology and paleontology.
(One paleontologist got a might peeved when he found out that, due to a name clash, an entomologist got to rename his species of dinosaur and named it "big dead lizard".)
