They did most certainly, the data is likely secure and the tablet isn't really that important, Oli can definitely scratch the paint but the important stuff is likely secure

Makes you wonder what type of cheap metal they made this thing out of if a brick could damage the tablet protector...engineering is gonna be hearing about that I feel.

Cheap plastics mostly, large scale fabrication is all the rage in the human world. The inside might have some nice metal but the outside is likely various sorts of plastic. Some tough, some vulnerable to bricks.
