CCCXI: Getting the Drop

I said in the notes on a previous page that the point of this mouse side-plot was to add some action to the chapter. That was actually just half of the reason. I also really wanted to give Cass a clear “win.”

It still remains to be seen whether her cure will work out. With so much uncertainty hanging over her, and questions (understandably) being asked about her competence, I wanted to make it clear that she’s still capable of carrying out an effective strategy. Yes, capturing a mouse is a small thing, but a win is a win, and it adds much-needed positive vibes.
