A picture drawn up to celebrate FurAffinity's new roster of species tags (you can see them in the 'Browse' page), finally assembled into something put in some semblance of logical order. I don't know why they still don't have 'Mermaid'. But! They have 'Coatimundi' (sic) [*] so I can transfer all my pictures of coatis from being tagged as 'Raccoon' or 'Mammal (other)' to something more nearly correct!

So here's a little doodle of Austin walking along, bindle tied to his tail, to carry whatever his important possessions are.

[*] The species is 'Coati'. People who incorrectly are not obsessed with learning about coatis mistake 'coatimundi' for the name, on the (reasonable) supposition that the shorter name is a nickname and the longer name more correct. The name 'Coatimundi' means, properly, the lone coati, which Western scientists thought was (based on behavior) a different species from the social coati until they noticed that every lone coati was an adult male, while every social coati was an adult female or a juvenile. The tribe structure (roughly) has the adult females and the juveniles living together at the core, with the adult males in a cloud around the outskirts of the tribe's territory.
