The two hares move about in a much slower fashion as the damage sustained has finally taken its toll. They make for a few blind swings, but none hit with any damaging accuracy. It wasn’t long before they once more began to clinch in the middle of the ring. This time it wasn’t merely to rest, but to help their chances of better landing a solid blow. However, the meager punches they landed weren’t enough to shake either fighter.

Neither of the two wanted to give up, as the punches began to increase in force. It wasn’t long before Kaye threw out a swift knee which rams into Gritt’s side. He’s slightly shaken by the strike but counters with one of his own. For a moment the two briefly exchange knee strikes, hoping that the other would finally fall. They were growing increasingly annoyed with their opponent’s determination.

Moments before the round could end Gritt breaks away from the clinch and makes for another aimless hook. It’s a direct hit as it sends Kaye tumbling back towards the ropes. Before he can follow his attack up, the round ends. From that moment on he was further encouraged to knock Kaye flat out.
