The fourth round starts with Kaye taking the initiative. He goes for a hook which Gritt quickly raises his guard against. The blow was merely a feint as Gritt is hammered by a low kick which forces him to stumble about. Kaye immediately dashes in with quick combinations aimed directly at Gritt’s bruised eye. Gritt’s head is knocked back and forth as his eye quickly swells.

Getting desperate, Gritt tackles Kaye towards the ropes. Now cornered, Kaye manages to stand and attempt another clinch. He succeeds as he holds Gritt tight and tries to grab at his ear again. As Gritt feels Kaye’s hand move upwards, he instinctively headbutts the hare catching him off guard. Kaye yelps in pain as a spurt of blood flies from his nose.

Realizing he has the advantage again, Gritt violently hammers into Kaye’s face. The blows begin to draw consistent drops of blood as Kaye’s eye swells shut and his cheek begins to puff up as well. Gritt soon runs out of steam as his aggression slows down. The two fighters end the round hugged against the ropes breathing heavily in exhaustion.
