Here's a bowl carving adze I made from a ball pein hammer. The handle is made from hickory and the wedge that holds it in is made from oak.
This is used to cut and hollow out a bowl shape from green wood, which I plan to do at some point.
I had made an attempt at a bowl carving adze before, but it was a failure. This is a step up.
The cylindrical ball end to this adze has no purpose, but to act as counter balance and to provide weight.
