This fan art is a reference to an image by the GwtB creator that started the webcomic. Said image featured a character similar to the one above clutching a spoon.

The object the guy is holding is the memory eraser from the Men in Black films. For some reason, I keep thinking the "There is no spoon" is a quote from somewhere. Fudged if I know.
