When I was researching Royal Canadian Air Force history between the wars for this, and even the official RCAF history is pretty sparse in this area, I found out the RAF and RCAF would periodically swap officers during this time. It was one of these exchanges where Flt, Lt. Jodorosky (I named him after the ditector/comic writer) met his RAF buddy Arthur, and also why this Canadian pilot happened to be in England around the same time. As you can probably guess from he name, I envisoned Arthur Hugh-Lawrence as a Bertie Wooster type of character.
Also a question for the writers. Since the Canadian military followed the British model, Flt. Lt. Jodorosky is a "left-tenant" rather than a "loo-tenant", how would you got about making that distinction in print, or am I just overthinking this?

Interesting point though, thank you! And I certainly can't blame the Americans for finding the French better company. These days I kinda see their point. (I'm a Brit, but right now sitting at a table covered with papers as I study for my Swiss citizenship interview. Wish me luck.)
(I may have mentioned my grandfather was involved in that when he was stationed out at Vulcan, Alberta, during WWII. Teaching bomber crew stellar navigation techniques, among other things.)
