Today I would like to provide you with one more alternative, the most canonical for the post-canon of my versions (I have several of them). This time it will be about two sons, two brothers who must go through the fate of their ancestors and, perhaps, change it.
A golden lion cub, with Kion's bang and an open, good-natured look - the crown prince and heir Enzi (from Swah. Enzi - power, reign), the favorite of Grandfather Simba. A dark lion cub with a crippled hind leg and all in scars - Prince Kidari (from Swah. Kidari - chest / arrogance), the leader of the Lion Guard and partly an outcast in his family.
King Simba was indescribably delighted with his grandchildren, but from the very first moment his heart belonged to the firstborn, so reminiscent of Kion. Nala was also more sympathetic to Enzi, as he looked like her father and her son. They loved the Kidari, but over time, the older the brothers became, the attitude towards him became worse. Kidari was narcissistic and arrogant, proud of his intelligence and his quick wit, considered himself more worthy of the role of king. It is worth noting that Enzi was not a saint either. He was charming and sweet to those around him, polite and benevolent, but he behaved arrogantly with his peers, often reminding everyone that he was the future king, which means that he is better than everyone and in everything. With his mockery, he fueled his brother's dislike. Relations between them deteriorated, but more often Kidari was blamed for this. One day, the brothers got into a conflict and got into a fight, during which Enzi threw him off a cliff. Miraculously, he survived, spending the whole moon under the supervision of Rafiki, but for the rest of his life he was left with scars and limp. Kiara loved both of her sons very much, and was very sorry for Kidari, but she believed that it was an accident. Kidari thought differently. Although his father did not share his views, Kovu was very close to his son. Knowing perfectly well what a shadow of an ancestor was, he supported his son, but it became more and more difficult - due to injury, the lion cub closed in and became unsociable.
Simba saw Scar in him even more than in his father. This forced him to break apart - on the one hand, he did not want his grandson to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and love him, he wanted to protect him and give him his love, but at the same time he could not get rid of the bias. Feelings of guilt and irritation consumed the old king. When Kidari unexpectedly received the mark, Simba, in despair, began to assure Rafiki that the Kings of the Past were mistaken - the cripple and grandson of Scar could not be the leader of the LG, to which Rafiki reasonably appreciated that the Kings of the Past knew better and could not escape from fate. It didn't really console Simba, but he gave it up. Kion did not object to the candidacy of his nephew. Having no children of his own, he treated Kidari like a whip, oblivious to his prickly nature. Kidari was angry. Very angry. He believed that this was an evil irony of fate, a mockery of him. A cripple and an LG leader? He could not always help himself, what can we say about saving someone? They only made fun of him, no one would respect him. In revenge, with sadistic satisfaction, Kidari recruited the appropriate guard - a three-legged hyena (a birth defect of Jasiri's daughter) as the Fastest, blind dune cat as Sharp-eyed, a cowardly meerkat as the Bravest and the Strongest Fat. It goes without saying that such a guard caused bewilderment and shock, but the tags lit up, and Rafiki said that the Great Ancestors recognized the guard. Kidari hadn't been with them much until that moment, and hadn't thought about their feelings. Getting to know them better and facing the consequences of his choice, Kidari realized that he was putting Prideland in danger. Taking responsibility, he began to develop his strategy, realizing that although physically not all of them have good chances, but with a competent distribution of forces, they could well be effective. pretty soon, the Guard surprised everyone by starting to act wisely, overcoming obstacles and their own shortcomings, protecting Prideland in an unusual but effective way. And while Kidari was gradually changing, turning from an egoist into an altruist, putting the interests of others above his own, Enzi became more selfish and more power-hungry ...
