CCC: This is Going 2 Suck: The Suckquel

This page has direct parallels to Cass and Morty’s first attempt to do this, so I went with a title that calls back to that. It’s a total coincidence this comes exactly 250 pages later. This was written to be page CCXCIX, before I snuck the scenes with Cass’ mice and Thirteen into the script.

Coming up with a design for the extractor was tricky. I didn’t want it to be so complex that it would be difficult to draw at a small size whenever there was a full-body shots of Cass. I also wanted to make it look appropriately sciencey. Hexagons are big in sci-fi aesthetics. It almost had a vibrant, saturated color to help it stand out from her wool, but I remembered that this is Morty’s design, and he prefers metallic hues and matte grays.
