Whoo!
I actually made my first self generating patch this evening. I came up with the idea while eating dinner, and decided to give it a try. I had a few wrinkles to work out at first, but once I got it going I was pretty happy with it.
I used the Rampage as the main driver in creating the "pulse" of the patch. This fed the S&H to supply the note values fed to one of my VCOs and Plaits. By adjusting the rise/fall of each channel of Rampage, I could change the character (and speed) of the generating ping-pong between voices.
Pretty cool, I ended up tweaking with this patch for about 2 hours trying different variations. Unfortunately, I don't have my recording stuff set up at the moment. So I do not have a sample to share at this moment. But I wrote down some notes on how I patched things up so I can use it as a basis for re-visiting this once I'm able to record.
Overall, it was really cool to *finally* feel like I'm making some progress with my rack. I'm really looking forward to more experimentation!

A ring modulator or half wave rectifier module would be some good ones to consider making. Looks really cool. When I got into synths 3 years ago, I never imagined I would get into sound design and spending questionable amounts of money on this kind of gear. Your designs are pretty good, you should make them totally open source or something so people could use your gerber files or whatever to build otter mod modules.
