More Chima comics! ^^ This time around, I made a little something looking into one of my personal headcanons: the Bear Tribe's Dream-walking ability. Expanding what was seen in the show, I've made 2 additions:
- 1: Alongside the their shared dreamscape, Bears can also enter the dreams of others. Either on purpose or by accident if the person is someone close to them.
- 2: I added some backstory lore explaining why this ability isn't a well known fact about Bears. Basically, the thought of someone else invading their subconscious dreams freaked the other tribes into actively suppressing knowledge of it for generations, until it fell into obscurity.
Honestly, I feel like the Bears probably have the most wasted potential out of all the animal tribes. They never contributed much, and were largely kept around as joke characters with one schtick. Then in season 2, we learn that Bears in Chima actually have the ability to consciously walk about in a dreamscape while they're asleep - and nothing is really done about it. You'd think that a series that uses dreams as a major plot device (ex. Cragger communicating with his lost parents, Eris's prophetic nightmares) would make use of a character/species that could literally walk through dreams.
Sadly, this was not the case. Which may be why the Bears are my favorite Chima species (weird how that works, right?)
