Y'dosk is home to some odd things, and one of them is the artificially mass-produced Æpocil, hive-mind insectoid clones. It's just treated as a normal thing even though not many know who is making them or why, they come and go from the laboratory that makes them, exploring and gathering data to bring back to the rest. Those antenna giving their mental connection decent range; but after not being close to any others, a singular Æpocil will form a personality, this is considered a flaw.

Interesting!
If an Æpocil was separated for a very long amount of time, would it have any lasting effect on the hivemind?
For example, it more or less joins a community and grows very close to them all, then gets assimilated after many years, would the data just be a detailed guide to the community, or would it be tinged with the Æpocil's own emotional opinions on everything? Like "This is a source of high quality confectioneries" vs "Beany's Bakery always did make the finest pies for miles".
Speaking of which, what is their intended lifespan?
Do rogue Æpocil still try to follow their protocols by being curious and nosy?
When an Æpocil discovers a terrible secret, do people try to destroy them before it gets back to the hivemind, or just accept that it's more or less a terrible secret that the hivemind now knows?

-The Hivemind would just have that intimate knowledge of the thing.
-If one became your friend, then that info assimilated into the hivemind different Æpocil could approach you acting the same way, perhaps being more matter-of-factly about it which would probably feel off to you.
-lifespans of 6 months to the longest living for 2 years.
-They are naturally curious, because of the original's personality.
-Yes, that info will be archived for all to know forever, you ain't never getting that expunged from their info unless you go to the lab and kill every last one.
