in all actuality hon, the fact that she's NOT a Psychic, but instead is a Mage is something no one's considered... that will very much save her in the end... as long as she can 'somewhat' concentrate and try to work "small magics"...
at least when that real psychic that's on mister moneybags payroll isn't trying to keep her head zonked...

This whole chapter has some of your best action plotting IMHO. Every component moves with inexorable speed and logic to form a perfect whole, like domino toppling! (Which his how James Cameron defined the ideal action sequence.)

Not surprising half the time. You get rich powerful guys who think money can just silv everything and think the know what other people want. So they ending up thinking the can just do what every. Sad that there are plenty of real world examples.

That'll totally be their downfall: they think Mink's powers are something that can be explained by regular logic. So either they won't find anything useful, or Brainfreeze will get screwed up by whatever arcane knowledge is on Mink's mind Cthullu Mythos-style;

After all, if Mink herself took years of studies to be able to use her powers in a safe way for herself and others, imagine what all that knowledge will do going at once into Brainfreeze's mind?

I think she's magically Shifting the drugs out of her system and into theirs. We know she set up a new protection spell before she went out on the town after all

And there it is: thinking you're so powerful you don't have to really be careful, even after being warned and knowing people are after you. Having amazing powers won't do you much good if you're completely unconscious... *unless* she casts some proactive spells on herself just in case.
