It Looks like an ancient War or Recon Satellite that partially melted on planetary entry & as for the white pool I'm beginning to wonder if its actually ancient nanotech that was designed to repair damage but malfunctioned upon the "Satellite" making a unexpected planetary crash where it partially melted and became semi-hostile.
