Dgirael is helping me put on images a story i wrote based on several folk lore stories.
Note: I normally write the name of the artist in the title, this is not possible this time because FA cuts it. I don't speak russian and i chose to write the title in russian... this was a big mistake. As now i can't change the title... but FA cuts the name of the artist. ARGH!
While normally i would write 3 parts of 5 chapters and 7 pages each save the first chapter of each part being 6 pages,
...i decided for this one to be a bit like a short version of my 2 big projects ("monsters" and "Tithe For The Moon Children") each of whom are more than 5 chapters, so this one will be 10 chapters, but a "single" part.
I want to be able to write more "parts" with Baba Ptitsa and Chanterelle.
But this... This is how Baba Ptitsa and Chanterelle became who they are.
Other than being the illustrator, the main characters have been first brought to "life" by

Oh, yeah, this is not explained anywhere, but can be inferred by what was said in the comic:
They were produced by a creature made via magic which is magically immortal.
Even if you kill her she would come back (probably disappointed in you).
So they are just as immortal as she is. They are just... you know... immortal single celled """organisms""" that had a function they can never achieve.
They can't spoil because "spoiling" means they die and they cannot die. And i do not mean in a "zombie" sense. They just cannot. They are forced in this "unborn" mindless state of eternal quasi-life.
This is why in the next page... magic enters the game to solve this situation.
The first half of this comic is about how Baba Ptitsa finds a way to give them a proper life since she cannot stop "producing" them.
The previous page of the comic is about how she will never have a partner because her """mother""" made her as a unique creature and never gave her a companion to live with.
While Chanterelle will find a companion and actually have a family... Baba Ptitsa will just live forever alone and enjoying it, growing a new family each time by just creating immortal beings as children.
This was already shown in the Vasya comic where Baba Ptitsa totally gave her eggs even though none of the people there look even vaguely like chicken, and they can revert to their egg state when dormant.
It is the biggest and main difference between Baba Jaga and Baba Ptitsa.
Baba Jaga is an expy for the "mentorship" process and how people of power can teach you but rarely take time to do and it is up to the mentored person to understand what they want out of them.
Baba Jaga is cruel and totally eats people for breakfast, like most mentorships, but also rewarding, for if you show ingenuity and achieve "the impossible" either by asking help or being resourceful... you reap plenty of rewards for Baba Jaga will share her powers with you.
Baba Ptitsa instead... does not share powers. She shares her children with you. She gives you what she created and it is up to you to understand how to work with them.
It is also why the "mentorship" that Baba Ptitsa offers in my stories is always centered in "learning to work with" her children and how to "put them to good use".
