Chakat was flying in the endless cold space - but shi did not have time to get scared when shi suddenly realized that shi was on the lawn.
It was already evening, or maybe it was morning ... Chakat looked around, wherever hir vision reached, there was a field covered with almost knee-high grass. Chakat raised hir head up and saw that the whole sky was gray, and although the sun was not visible - but everything around was still quite light.
There was no one around, only silence and the wind rustling the tall grass, and wherever chakat went, there was only silence and an endless field.
Chakat looked around in panic, and as shi took a deep breath, shi cried out loudly and sadly. A cry - or even a loud groan of despair, was heard over the meadow, and then everything calmed down again, and only the wind continued to rustle the tall grass ...
"Mom, Dad, where are you! Dad, don't leave me..."

Star woke up abruptly in the middle of the night, shi knew shi had a nightmare - but could not remember what it was. Star only knew that hir whole body was shaking and both hir hearts were beating at a panicked pace.
Chakat looked around and realized that shi was sleeping in hir bed, and listening to the silence a while, shi heard hir father's soft breathing on the next bed.
Star get up quietly from hir bed and approached very carefully, and carefully moved the sleeping man, shi lay down next to him, leaning against Mark. Maybe tomorrow he'll scold hir again for being an adult and still coming to bed with him — but don't care, it does not matter - shi'll have a good night's sleep today. A good sleep without dreams.


For a long time, I have been planning to publish this. This is a series of short stories "Shadows of the Past" - these are memories from the past about not the best days of my characters.

Please note that my story is in the process of being written, and most of these small fragments that I published are not in chronological order. So when I finish my plans I will try to put everything in order.
