The Omni verse is a gargantuan place, full of adventure, horror, and amazement. However, not every universe is filled with delight and fun. Some contain creatures the size of galactic clusters, others hold back entities of unimaginable power. While each universe is separate from one another, there are some exceptions.
One exception in particular is the result of a accident. In a time before organic life could grasp the idea of exploring the unknown, a ancient empire lost to the ages forged a great machine. This machine was capable of allowing their people travel to other worlds in a instant, supplies desperately needed could arrive in a single nanosecond.
What occurred instead was something they could never anticipate. Rather than tunneling to another world, it dug into the void between universes itself. What laid beyond was a empty abyss. Despite this, it offered a advancement unlike any other. As the civilization progressed into what would be dubbed “The Hollow”, great technological breakthroughs would start to fill the empty void.
Artificial worlds with false suns were built to support the increasing populace. Massive forges worked year to year to supply the military with new weapons and goods for the civilians. More gateways broadened the network, opening new portals to worlds that never saw sunlight. Out of all their galactic wonders one would soon stand out. In what become their magnum opus, they constructed a world that would serve as the hub to the multiverse network. It spanned galaxies, holding a grand majority of their people and providing safe passage to their fleets. It was known and referred to as Terminus.
At the height of their civilization, Terminus held more than 190 billion organisms at one single time. This unfortunately would not last. It still remains unknown when it happened the details are somewhat known. At some point in time, the network suddenly collapsed. Entire galaxies were cut off in a single moment and Terminus itself went dark.
Each and every attempt at reopening the portals were unsuccessful. Planets went dark as if something was quietly consuming each and every one. In time, the rest of their civilization followed, damning them to extinction.
But even then, their legacy lived on. A millennia after they closed, the gateways reopened to what had been Terminus. After the portals had closed, food and resources fell scarce as it’s population turned in upon itself. As time went on, nobody would survive the “Isolation of Terminus” as they called it.
In time, however, life would return to it. New civilizations would discover the gateways and reawaken them. As time would pass, Terminus would become a titanic ecumenopolis for all.
As Jay looked out over the populated roads, he looked with great interest. It was so surprising here. Two species that were aggressive to each other in one universe were casually chatting at a coffee shop as if there was no bad blood between them. A nine meter tall snake-like creature slithered pass a foot tall reptile with small horns.
His gauntlet beeping broke his concentration. Might as well get another portal ready. He tapped the screen, activating his portal generator. It’s would take a few minutes but he had the time. With that done, he returned to his observations.

I drew this about two or three weeks ago and just inked it today. If you’re wondering who the furson next to Jay is, I really don’t know. It was originally going to be Amara but I messed something up while going over the lines with the pen so I improvised. I’m thinking of making her a character but not too sure yet. Also, just to point out, she’s an adult. She’s just short.
