Well, if "grey" can be called a color. Her hair is actually a blackish color with burgundy highlights, but it looks sorta brownish here. Also, I didn't properly blend the background color with the area around her head, but that's mostly due to the fact I really can't see the differences with my eye(s). I know the shades are a little off on the black background, but fuck if I can see it.
Anyhow, this is one of four pictures of her which I will be slathering on my Honda Nighthawk after I repaint the base coat. I'm quite certain the Bible thumpers around this part of the country will love the new paint job...
Mediums used are Prismacolor markers and colored pencils. Time to complete is about 11 hours, including the initial rough sketches. Probably would've been quicker if I had used a photo reference, but I hate shit like that. I don't use that tactic for drawing humans in my mainstream work, so no sense in using it here.

That's okay. I have lots of ammunition just itchin' to get used. And Bible thumpers are more entertaining targets than those boring ol' paper ones. Besides, I'm sure their god will save them (insert cackling, uncontrollable laughter here).
Nah, it shouldn't be an issue. The last bike I entered, I got first place for the Metric Custom category. The bike was my old Honda chopper with a picture of Onika on the tank, nude, full frontal view, flipping the viewer the finger. The folks loved it.

I've drawn custom art for bikes before. There was one in Florida, I think it was called "Bad Juju", that I did all the artwork for. But alas, I don't paint the stuff on the bike (though I've done that with airboats in the past). My method is actually much better than paint: I have the artwork turned into a decal, which is laid atop the base coat and then covered with clear coat paint. The result is a smooth finish with highly detailed artwork. Best of all, if the bike is scratched or damaged? You simply repaint the base coat, reprint another decal, and slap on new clear coat. If the artwork is airbrushed on, and the bike gets damaged, it cannot be repaired.
Well, I have insurance now, but before I got that coverage, the doctor's bills cleaned out my savings account, checking account and my mutual fund. I also parted out my car and sold one of my bikes. Luckily, a lot of folks sent some extra funds my way, which helped a LOT.
Shit, I had to file for bankruptcy in late 2005 because I couldn't afford to pay for everything. It was a total bitch, man.
I still laugh when I hear about folks saying I made up the whole eye issue thing. Since you're an eye doctor, maybe you can verify the information on the following link? It's the technical jargon for what I had stated was occurring with my vision: http://www.skunked.com/Rumor1.htm
No need to check it out, really. But it's nice when a professional from a particular medical field can confirm things.
Glad you like the picture! I may post the others as they get completed.

Holy Moley, James. That was the whole enchilada and a side of beans with the retinopathy. Holy hannah, I am just glad you got you BP down before either eye went into traction and started you down the white cane road. That is a very nasty diagnosis you had, man. Glad to see you are still 20/30 and 20/160. Yes, as a OD, I can say everything you put in your rumor is the truth, from the diagnosis to the treatments to the technical jargon. Really glad you found some great MD's,eye surgeons do so much to help people and Florida has some really, really good docs. It has one of the top training hospitals for eyes in the nation, you know.
Keep the art coming, hope all goes well wiht the kiddy stuff and hope to see more Penance soon. :)

Pfft. I'm far from rich, man. But unlike my brother, who is oh-so-concerned about money and material possessions, I'm just happy if I make enough to cover all my bills and still leave me extra cash to save or spend on something I want. Which usually isn't much. I see no need to buy fancy stuff. Hell, my television is the same one I got when I was 18. That shit is 20 years old, man! But I don't plan on upgrading to a giant flat screen plasma TV anytime soon, because the old one still works perfectly.
We seem to have similar attitudes. I give a damn about my people and my art (in that order) and that's about it. I'd be bothered if my 'puter was stolen, but that's just 'cause replacing my files and graphics software would be such a huge pain in the ass. Which reminds me, I need to back this thing up again. I'd LIKE to be rich, of course, but I'm not gonna burst a vein chasing the dollar. It's just paper, ya know?
Hey I got you beat!
My old TV is a B & W 1962 Dumont and try getting parts for that baby. My color TV is a 1977 Plasma Color by Zenith and she still works great, I also have a 1976 top loading Betamax VCR (Its a real bitch getting tapes for it) and my Computer still has Win/95 on it. (It replaced the old coal burning computer I used to have in the pre-windows days)

Sweet Jumping Baby Horus!!!!!!!
That girl could eat your meat & potatoes with out stopping to chew and then rip out the roots! 0_0
You know I hate to say this but sometimes your art work frightens me and I don't frighten easy being a Correctional officer for 35+ years and I've seen some very bloody awful art work by mass murderers that don't scare me as some of yours does.
Keep up the great work she's starting to grow on you

I really hate to nitpick *no really, I do..* But the perspective on her lower jaw looks off. Its almost like it pivoted downward and toward the viewer in relation to the rest of her face and upper jaw.
That being said, I love how your shading shows the bone structure under the flesh! Seeing the pressure of the jaw bone and skull on her face it a great touch. :)

Thanks! Her eye sockets are a little more on the side than a human's, so the front of the skull (center) would almost kinda "peak" where the nose would be. I'll post the sketch of the skull later on tonight to try to explain it better. The upper and lower jaws are rounded, like they are on a human skull, but the skull above the upper jaw begins to slant more to each side, rather than curve.
Personally, I think the perspective was off a little on the forehead by the horns, as compared to the rest of the skull. The eyes look a little odd until the underlying structure is seen and understood. Like I said earlier, she's sort of humanesque in shape, but not quite. A lot of the differences are just subtle things, though.

Looking at her lower jaw, I see what you mean. I may have goofed while drawing her teeth (which are NOT perfectly straight model teeth). The canine jut forward, but they also jut towards the outer corners of the mouth, as if they are at a 45-degree angle with the centerline of the lower jaw.
