HAD CONVERSATION WITH KSE ENVOY THIS DATE. KSE ENVOY DESCRIBED TERMS FOR CONSIDERATION BY TERRIMPGOV AS FOLLOWS:
1. KSE PROPOSES CEASE FIRE IN PLACE.
2. KSE WILL HOLD ALL TERRITORIAL GAINS.

The Foreign Minister was an opossum, and he was practically vibrating in place in an effort to not fret as Felix read the message again. He gave a start as the Indochinese leopard looked up at him. “This was authenticated?”
Mendez nodded jerkily, more than aware of the minkess standing a short distance away. “B-By both the F-Foreign Ministry and Intelligence, Majesty,” he stammered.
“Point Four . . . the Empire expects us to negotiate with traitors?” Before Mendez could reply, Felix made a dismissive gesture. “Never mind. Tell Balakrishnan that she can talk to whoever she likes. Prisoner exchange, whatever.” He suddenly grinned, displaying the points of his teeth. “She can use this opportunity to salvage what’s left of her reputation in your Ministry.”
“Y-Yes, Y-Your – “
“Yes, yes, dismissed, Minister. Thank you.” The opossum acted as if he couldn’t leave the office fast enough, and Felix chuckled. “Is your agent on Downtime Station ready?”
‘M’ nodded.
“What’s your assessment of the other five points?” Felix asked, feline eyes giving the mink femme a sidelong glance.
The minkess replied, “We knew they would insist on Points One and Two; they did the last time when their strategic position wasn’t as strong; Three shouldn’t cause us too much difficulty,” and she smiled. “We have assets in place to guarantee the proper outcome of any plebiscite. Point Five will – “
“Will be a simple matter, and not in your area,” the Emperor said smoothly. That leaves Six. I’m certain, Director,” and he favored her with a broad smile, “that we can supply the Empire with appropriate persons to satisfy their sense of moral outrage.”
“It’s said that the Kashlani have no morals,” ‘M’ observed, matching his smile.
“I’ve heard that,” Felix said, “but they’re aliens – how would we know? Dismissed, Director; let me know if your section gets anything that may improve our bargaining position.”
‘M’ sketched a slight bow. “Majesty.”
Felix watched her leave the office before returning to the message on the desk in front of him.
And he began to formulate a plan.

Also.....the Empire is perhaps being a tad bit...naïve in thinking the Confederacy'll negotiate with it's errant colonies. Us readers have a pretty good idea how it'll play out.
