I can still see you
see the you that I once adored
who smiled and laughed
and cried and begged.

Who made the sun rise each morning
and my heart beat from within shell

I can still see you
standing there with that smile
how I miss that smile of yours
which shone through the darkness
and offered sanctuary to such a monster.

I can still see you
even if you are no more than a figment
a figment of my own twisted wishes.

My dreams of selfish desires
and unobtainable happy endings.

But you are there,

You were meant to be that shining star
that glisten of hope upon such a black canvas
standing out again a world of empty promises
