Smilodon populator - Base introduction -
A saber-toothed cat is finally part of my roster thanks to a Kateeabra on Discord! I loved working on this to bits. Also working on a separate commission for S. fatalis atm as well. So, it's a good night.
S. populator is the largest known smilodon known thus far! Weighing an estimated 480 to 960 lb. Smilodons lived in the Americas in the Pleistocene epoch era and was likely an ambush predator who preyed upon horses, bison antiquus, camel camelops, antelope, deer, etc. They likely competed for food with other species of smilodon and even dire wolves.
Once the quaternary extinction event hit and killed off the megafauna, it couldn't adapt and died out as well.
