Late last year I wrote down most of my negative thoughts, rolled them up into a bitter little pill, and had them published in a fanzine. I cover a lot of ground -- the useless war in Afghanistan, the pointless urge to live longer, the sight of young people walking around like zombies while plugged into their cell phones, ipods and brain-slugs. If like me, you're getting older and realize that it's everyone else's fault, you might need a dose of cynicism from this piece.

Wow. That was some angry stuff.
I'm forced to agree about Harper and his Reaganomic fabulousness, and about advertising and population growth and cell phones. Thing is, the only way any of this will change is if people at large spontaneously develop some inkling that community is more important than self. Until our perception of the world is less autocentric, we will continue to tear down our society and our planet.
Usually, though, the world gets tired of its tiresome, oblivious, little parasites before things go too far into the irreparable and wipes us out. Won't that be nice.

I hesitate to comment on the relative popularities of the Liberal and Conservative Parties. Even with about a 32% approval level, the Conservative are hardly popular. Yet they are usually several points ahead of the nearest competition, and can expect to form another minority government after the next election. Considering the PM's arrogance, his disregard for democratic conventions, his lies and obvious back-door techniques, his clear intentions to remain in Afghanistan indefinitely and spend Canada's slender disposible income on useless military toys to please his White House masters, I can't understand why the party's popularity doesn't plummet into the basement.
Is the Liberal Party leader Michael Ignatieff *that* unlikeable? I guess he must be.

Too bad you don't have a front yard so you could tell them darn kids to stay off it ;P
Here's something rageworthy - a black dude walking home was arrested, charged, tried and sentenced to prison for rape, and twenty-seven years (that's 27 years) later the DA's office has admitted that he had nothing to do with said rape - and they know who the actual felons are - but the statute of limitations have run out so, oops, sorry about that. We've been having quite a few little things like this bobbing up lately and I'm starting to get tired of the amateur hour style of our law down here. >:(
