Before the Kobold hatched, it's shell was breeched by a parasitic fungus only found deep in the deepest caverns. The mold caused the Kobold to give off a dull glow of blue off it's scales. The mold growing on it, is speckled with pockets of yellow luminescent liquid. The kobolds body fluids have been replaced with said yellow liquid, causing it's eye, drool, blood, and other bodily fluids to glow yellow.

The mold and liquid are highly toxic, but slow acting. There's a small chance that other's who come in contact with the liquid can also become a host, although there is a higher likelihood of death.

The Kobold can still retain cognitive thoughts and control it's own actions, the only negatives other than being a walking toxin and loneliness is increased hunger and thirst. These Kobolds can often suffer from loneliness which can cause insanity, but this is not directly due to the fungus's influence.
