Have you ever had one of those "senior moments", where you're not sure if you did something -- especially something simple and standard like locking the front door, turning off the oven, even flushing the toilet? And you remember doing it, but you're not sure if you're remembering doing it five minutes ago or yesterday?
That's when muscle memory starts to become a liability. Do something enough times and you can do it 100% subconsciously: Behind your back, blindfolded, even in your sleep.
I've been exactly where Olivia is right now. I won't lie: I've more than once had to take attendance with my belly.
Me: "Dory?" (feels a squirm) "Ray?" (feels a squirm) "Zach?"
Zach: (from a distance) "Here."
Me: "Don't do that, it throws me off."
