The knight's tournament is too bloated and pompous an event hardly suitable for the true representatives of the craft of war. A one-on-one duel between warriors of equal skill and strength is far more beautiful.

Oh sure, it's not a good representation of real combat. But it fills the coin purse for the competitors and keeps the spectators entertained.
