I try not to pull my punches (pun entirely intended) when writing fight scenes. If a character has a sword, I at want them to at least attempt to use it if they feel is necessary.
Jim and Tim's powers are definitely odd ones. They both involve turning their body parts into an entirely different material instead of flesh and bones. In Jim's case, it's only whatever body parts he wants it to affect.
