Every car manufactures filling up their model line with these bloated station wagons and hatchbacks (you know crossover SUVs) because they're so popular nowadays, is SUV craze getting too exaggerating.
I know car manufactures need money, so they produce Crossovers and SUVs but there are so many of them.
What do you think?

I think it's cause Safety standards these days have made it very hard to make Sedans capable of competing with SUV's anymore. That and trucks and SUV's didn't really start coming into fashion until the 90's.
But in the old days even "compact" sedans had big fuck off trunks and V8's in them that you could tow campers with. It's hard to design a Sedan anymore that has the volume to be as practical as these crossovers without them being HUGE or lacking structural integrity in a collision, or being the same price as the SUV that offers a little bit more.
The family sedan truly died with the discontinuation of the Ford Crown Victoria, once it was gone, allllll the police cars around here became Ford Explorers. They use a lot of dodge chargers arguably but dodge chargers are more expensive than the Explorers.. so.. Why?
ALSO a big player in this phenomenon is that trucks, follow different, less restrictive safety standards than sedans, (and this includes your sedan based station wagons) which ultimately make the SUV's cheaper specifically the compact ones, V8's come at a huge price tag these days.
Whenever I see a brand new ford escape or explorer. I seethe. Especially if it's silver it's always a woman driving it. And I know she knows nothing about cars.
She walked into the dealership, said she had 3 kids and the salesman played her like a Fiddle. He was fuckin her pussy over the table as she was signing the papers for her 2022 Ford Explorer ST, in Dickhead™ Silver.
And that was that. Personally I love the Truck based SUV's like the Tahoe, and Excursion, those big meaty boys. But compact SUV's/crossovers make me cringe. I hate them so much. This is the end of my rant.
