New Dogs, Old Tricks 2
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
Old Trick: Dogs taking over the bed after expressly being told not to.
This happens over the course of a few weeks. Technically, the twin is big enough to sleep both Milo and Javier in their dog forms, but Javier gets pouty about being relegated to the foot of the bed.
Side notes:
** Milo isn’t very comfortable around people at first and spends most of his time in his dog form. Javier can go either way, but does enjoy being in his human or human-ish form and getting into Stella’s closet. They’re about the same height, but he is a bit broader, and there is a pile of stretched out shirts that she’s going to hang him with someday.
** Javier means “bright”. It’s a Spanish name based on the history of breeding coydogs in Mexico due to their reverence of coyotes.
** Milo means both “soldier” and “merciful”. It’s a German name based on the breed of dog and his scarred appearance - Stella sees him as an old soldier that needs more mercy in his life.

OMG, our dogs Murphy and Pino did this! XD They had the couch to sleep on while my wife and I had the water bed.
Little Pino wanted half of the couch, despite him weighing about 15 lbs and Murphy weighing 105. 0.o
So he snuck into our room and hopped up into the bottom of the bed after Murphy was asleep.
Big boy woke up and got lonely, so he decided to join us!
Even in a king-sized bed it was rather cramped! :D
Also, having been around coy-dogs, can verify that they have NO regard for personal property. If it's in the open, it's fair game to play with or chew on. No wonder he's in her clothes all the time. XD

Hahaha, art imitates life xD
it’s so funny how animals can expand and take up way more room than they really should. Thor is 16lbs of cat and lard, and he still manages to take up huge swathes of my queen bed.
There are some important boundaries that Javier won’t cross, buuuuut not many. He’s irreverent and a pain in the ass.
