Sketch of my new fantasy rabbit hybrid, Kiki!
I absolutely love this girl, and I'll go ahead and get this out of the way right now. No, she's not a Basitin, 'kay? XD
When I was designing her, yes I was taking quite a bit of inspiration from the beloved race from twokinds, but there are differences between the two. I really liked the idea of making Evie into an island guardian, so this "Cabbit" needed to be a kind of island dwelling Hawaiian style character and the white body paint is just really pretty to use. I also wanted to use a kitty tail because really bunny tails are no fun, so I wanted to give her a bit more of a long noodle to make her cuter with her big bunny ears. But she has rabbit ears, not cat or fox ears (I just have a really samey style of drawing ears), and she also has much fluffier off colored leg fluff, she also uses magic which the other species is unable to do.
With that out of the way, I just absolutely adore this character. Her fur paint is just so much fun to draw and really gives her character some fun depth. The relatively simple color scheme of her clothes also help to accentuate the little jewelry and feathers, as well as show her markings through. She's going to be a sorceress who specializes in wild magic, but has much better control over her powers than Tess does. So this character is going to be tons of fun cause she'll get to wear clothes like this all the time, very flowing and light weight clothing to allow her to move unrestricted. I also think a good deal of her magical power comes through body movement and dance to truly harness the amount of power she has access to.
I absolutely love hos this pic came out, hopefully everyone else likes her as well, and enjoy some dancin cabbit.
