It's pretty decent! The color scheme does work pretty well, it's always deceptively tricky to get flat colors that actually work well enough together. My only gripes with it are that:
the original lines look a bit more pixelated than they did before
the lines for Kitty's hair shine thing she has aren't as smooth as they could be
you have the POWER to draw the beach balls!
Anyhow, thanks for coloring my thing! It's always fun to see how people interpret stuff.

My pleasure! I've been at this since 1985, and I can claim a bit of expertise in color matching, as I was raised in a fabrics and trimmings store, so I was matching ribbons and braids to cloth from an early age. :)
1) I tried an experimental darkening procedure which does need a bit of work.
2) You're quite right; I don't have a graphics tablet, so they're all done by mouse and I have to admit to some arthritis and neuropathy. ;^.^
3) Didn't draw the beach balls; they're clipart. Layers are fun and useful. :D
Glad you like; I look forward to coloring more in the future! :D

Hope I don't accidentally overload you with too much technical advice, but here we go!
A really quick and dirty method with relatively clean lineart like this is to just duplicate the first layer and give it multiply blending, that darkens the lines right up really fast.
Depending on what program you're using you can have an option to using a stabilizer to smooth out your strokes. Practice a moving your mouse with your arm to get the REALLY big swoops down just right, saves your wrist a good bit of pain too if you get used to it.

I'll be darned. It woiks! Still hafta work on the swoops some, but the stabilizer in the calligraphy tool certainly helps! And your multiply trick worked a treat!
Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
