This was our kitten Noodle. He died a couple days ago in the rain and was found in the morning, killed by a stray mutt, broke the poor cats neck, and left dead in the rain... >:| Noodle was our favourite kitten. Now we have one left.

A friend of mine told me that tomcats don't last much longer than two and a half years in his little town.
What ratings/estimations do you have? Sorry for the seemingly cold-hearted question ._.
Since April I have a cat that is 14 years old now, he's sleeping right beside me ^-^
Here (big city) I guess the greatest danger comes from cars and cat-hating humans, but the smaller neighborhood seems OK, at least no cat haters - he goes over the fences. When I visit my brother, I let him out into the big garden and he does not go over the fences.

It ok, normally if the tom can survive his first year out here then he normally last 1-2 years. The first year is toughest when they try to figure out why all the other cats hate them. But as the female care go, if you have one that's smart or lucky they can live years. We have one farm cat,Muffin who is 14 years old now. She is the only reason we still have cats on the farm because everyone dies within 3 years...more or less. When she dies (which might be soon now) we will quickly run out of cats. (They mostly get hit by cars,).
And this picture is old, I barely remember this cat anymore. We've had several generations born and die out since then. Thanks to our long lived supercat.

Thank you.
So about the same as my friend said. That's rather saddening, IMHO.
One of my cat books contains an age translation between cat years and human years. It's not linear, a one (human/real) year old cat is about 15 cat years old. Then the aging in comparison to humans slows down, a 14 human years old cat is about 50 cat years old. They get more careful with age, but they have to learn...
Good luck and Merry Xmas & a good new year for everybody!

I have had many conversations with my parents about that, but they say farm cats are outdoor cats, I do agree with that, we have few cats now that would even be able to cope with being indoors, every now and then we get a cat like that though...Most of our cats are kinda wild though
