Alyssa may be the OC I use the most, but she's not actually the main character of my canon! That honor goes to her sister Aerie, an athletic superhero fangirl and a bit of a dreamer.

Aerie, much like her older siblings, was adopted by Professor Taren Aspen. She grew up loving any kind of comic books and superheroes, her favorite heroes being Spider-Man, Kamen Rider, and Mega Man. The idea of a child/teen taking on the world was thrilling to her. Of course, it didn't hurt that she could put herself into the shoes of folks like Rock, due to being the child of a famed scientist. She was inspired by these to try athletics and learning martial arts (though some of it came from her interest in fighting games), and she fell in love with basketball at the age of 10, going on to play for her college's team.

Ever since she was little, Aerie would go to her older sister for advice with anything, and Alyssa was always happy to help. As a result, Alyssa became Aerie's most trusted friend, and vice versa. The two began sharing their deepest secrets, as well as asking each other about things they were too embarrassed to tell anyone else about. This included Aerie's gender dysphoria when she was 14. Alyssa made the sweatshirt Aerie wears, to help her hide her body shape. Even now, as Aerie's on her second year of HRT, she wears her sweatshirt to hide how she looks.

In 2019, Aerie learned that it wasn't just comics and TV shows that had some of the worst villains. A group of black-hat hackers called 29A, known for resorting to physical burglary to get what they want, had stolen Taren's research into nanotechnology, planning to use it to take over the world by using nanotech suits. Taking inspiration from her hyperfixation, she, Alyssa, and Taren worked together on the Sungale Driver, a belt-like device containing a nanobot swarm, allowing her to take on the persona of Sungale, a hero who uses her wind and flame powers, as well as the AI powering her nanobots, to combat 29A.

Since then, she's been fighting against 29A, but things changed a bit after that. In 2021, she was invited by her friend Morgan Parker (my girlfriend June's OC) to watch the then-recent Mortal Kombat movie, and the two hit it off well. Since then, they've been dating, and even got married a year later. Though Morgan may not be as strong, she will do whatever it takes to protect him.

Aerie is an Aether/Blazing Mentali, with her fur being the color of a colorful sunset. She is able to lower her body weight to nearly nothing, control the wind, use pyrokinesis, and breathe fire. She also wears a special belt under her sweatshirt, and when activated, the belt releases a swarm of nanites that coat her body to form her Sungale outfit. (I'll probably commission this later.) The outfit doesn't give her any particular abilities, she just uses her Mentali abilities. She is particularly weak to ice magic, and being doused in water will remove her powers for a few hours.One day, I joined a high school RP, and decided to play Alyssa. However, as time went on, she became more and more out of character. Eventually, I decided that this version would be more suited for a different character, possibly a younger sister of Alyssa's, and thus Eri was created, named after the character from The World Ends With You. Eventually, I changed the spelling, made her an Aether/Blazing Mentali, and gave her a color scheme similar to a colorful sunset. While wondering about a few character motivations, I came up with the idea of her being trans.
