A handle I made for this nice old French hammer. I see a lot of new ones called "Joiners hammers" so, I guess that is what it is.
The wood here is American Ash.
I bought this from a nice lady from France on ebay a while back. It was sent to me with a few other hammers, most of them I've shown.
On the top it has the words "acier fondu" stamped in the top of it. From what I remember when I read old French catalogues and other things on a couple sites, that means "Cast Steel."
