"How many are there?"
The guard looked out of the rampart to the battlefield below. The enemy lined up in their organized formations, with legions of spearmen taking the front, followed by swordsmen and archers leading the rear. It was clear this would be far more than their retainers, but if they didn't fight back, it would be the end of their fair kingdom.
"Twelve troops, sir! About forty men each. We don't have nearly enough to match that!"
Arix's face grew firm and resolute. Having been asked to assist an ailing kingdom about to be ransacked by a neighbor, he had hoped for things to be better prepared on the defense.
"What do we have?" asked the dragon.
The guard thought for a moment, shooting back, "Two units of archers, two units of foot soldiers, and our last line of cavalry."
"And what of the generals?"
The soldier gave pause, turning pale, and looked out past the ramparts. His response couldn't have been more grim.
"We...we lost them in the last raid."
It was there Arix knew he had bitten off more than he could chew. Not only were they down to their last lines of defense, but had no leader to rally behind. It all seemed so hopeless, but he knew what had to be done. Walking up to the castle walls, staring out to that field watching the enemy ready to charge the gate, his dragon eyes saw everything…
"Gather all your able-bodied fighters and man the gates. Have the archers on each of the ramparts, and your horseback cavalry ready to charge on my mark. We're going to take them by surprise!"
The soldier nodded, he sent word to all the available troops to take position, while Arix flew to the top of the castle with sword and shield at the ready.
"Upon my word, give them hell, and do not stop until you are free of your foe's oppression!! NO GODS, NO KINGS, ONLY FREEDOM!!"
And lo, the mighty Arix did drop into the fray once more, ready to bring hell upon his foes ones swing at a time.

An army of a hundred men, is but a joke.
An army of thusands of men, is something to be feared.
An army of millions, is like death marching towards you while the ground trembles.
But the army that is the most feared, is the one that only consists of a single man, blessed with unyielding determination.
Looks fantastic!.
