Here's a sketch drawn earlier this year, showing Penance at the final resting place of the girl whose form she mimics. Obviously, this scene couldn't happen since Penance is actually stuck in that little bear form, but it seems to make a better presentation in this image by showing her in her natural form.
As this character's story unwinds, she ends up changing her perspectives and her sense of purpose. This is not going to be one of those mindless "monster kills people just because" sort of stories; as she learns more about her new realm, and the history of her new form, she ultimately changes her way of thinking. In fact, I see so much potential in this character that I've jotted down some ideas for a one-shot story/comic featuring just her, although I won't have the time to properly write it until later this year.
Oh yeah, and about that nasty dental work? That's why her mouth kinda protrudes a bit when it's closed. Hey, those big fangs have to go SOMEwhere!

Yup. In fact, it relates a LOT to Caterwaul.
The biggest hurdle with this title is getting all the different stories to line up and coincide with one another. Penance's story, the story about Onika and Treska, and the Lot Six and Skunkworks stories are all linked together through this title.
Saying it's been a challenge to get it all to fit together would be an understatement. I'm sure if I was Stephen King, I could pull it off easily. But, alas, I'm not. So I did the best I could...

Although Penace has the shape of the little girl, you always see she isn't her. Her eyes and especialy the teeth always show her demonic nature. I would like to know who the little girl was and what happened to her in detail, I know she was killed by one of those fuckers, but I would like to know who she was before the inncident and if her murderer got caught...
I can promise you all that info will be in the story, including not only a flashback sequence, but also a present-day sequence.
This particular story was probably the most complex and difficult one I've ever written. Now I just have to make sure I can do it justice with the artwork.

She looks perfectly normal until she turns on him. Other folks, if they even see her, would view her as perfectly normal. Many scenes in the comic will feature her looking just like a normal kid, but most of the pictures I've posted of her here show her as the victim would see her, right after the trap is sprung.
There will be a brief "flashback" sequence, where the reader will see Penance in her normal form. But the reader won't really connect the two until later in the story.
And what do you mean by the name? Do you mean Penance's real name? Or the name she uses in the bear form?

WOW!! That pic would be totally awesome if I didn't wet myself when I first saw it. I could picture myself walking though a foggy old bone yard and finding her hugging a blank old tombstone saying "Always room for one more!" as I watch the hole open up in front of it while her maniacal laughter fills the air. >_<

Neither, actually. But if I told you the whole story, then there wouldn't be any reason to read the comic!
I've been busy with my regular work, so it's made time for the anthro stuff a bit rare. I want to get a few pages of the second book finished before I submit the first one, since my regular work can sometimes take a lot of time away from the anthropomorphic art. Since the comic is supposed to come out 3 times a year, it's important that I have a little playing room in case something comes up. I don't want to get the book behind on it's intended schedule!

I understand, and that's a good business strategy, It can be pretty annoying for both the creator and the fans if something happens to completely stop production of something at a whim, so leeway time is a must!

As a succubus, she only has a physical form in her own world. Whenever she's out doing succubus-type things (ie, having sex with males while they sleep--it's an old lore), she isn't truly in the same physical realm as her victims. Unfortunately, she did something wrong and was therefore punished, and forced to exist in a physical realm unfamiliar to her, and in a physical form not her own. Seems her superiors thought it would be funny to stick her in the body of a dead kid (although, in truth, the kid's body is still rotting in the ground)...
Man, this is going to sound a bit odd, but I find the adult demoness form pretty neat. I think I just have a thing for girls with big teeth. I'm somewhat curious though, her mission is technically to *prevent* the kind of thing that happened to the bear girl, rather than merely go after people after the fact, right?
She doesn't really have a "mission"; she's being punished for a wrong she committed in her home reality. Her superiors stuck her into the form of the little bear to A) prevent her from being able to obtain the energy all succubi need for existence, and B)ground her in a physical form she cannot change. Unfortunately, her superiors didn't realize there existed folks who happened to like females on the young side, and Penance uses that as a means to get the energy she needs.
Over time, she begins to understand how things are in her new world, and once she realizes the horror and pain that some people inflict on kids, she vows to go after said individuals. In some cases, she can get to them before they start racking up victims, but mostly it is after the fact.
