FIELD ANALYSIS: The Z-31a is a tenth generation combat skin that offers protection from ballistic and energy based weapons as well as blunt force trauma and protecting the user from hazardous environments. It is equipped with a recharging class 1 Hardlight shielding unit that integrates an optical cloaking feature. Rather than a micro reactor, the suit is powered by energy cells like most RAC ground vehicles. The plating and its coating have been designed to absorb and disburse electromagnetic waves used in scanners and its internal to reduce heat signatures in hopes of avoiding detection. Should the user be detected, the armor's protection package has been rated second in the known galaxy. Total shield strength less of that than of both the Sovereign Alliance of Earth and the Grand Dragon Alliance (though it should be noted the SAE's armor requires a core replacement to recharge the shields). The Hardlight shield system also offers the armor complete EMP protection while active. It takes the number 2 spot as far as the strength of the plating itself, but manages to be lighter than the GDA's current armor. In mobility, the Z-31a is leagues ahead of its piers, sporting an inertial dampening and strength-enhancing exoskeleton, as well as 3D maneuvering thrusts. What makes the Z-31a and the other members of its line truely unique though is the modular design of the base armor and its add-on protection and operation packages. Every combat soldier of the RAC armed forces, with the exception of tankers and pilots, is equipped with a variant of the Z-31 powered assault armor, from the basic infantry package, to the Archangel troopers that terrorize the enemy from the skies.
