This is an arrangement my quintet recently performed of Rossini's "La Scala di Seta," or "The Silken Ladder." Originally for orchestra (it is an opera overture), this arrangement is still pretty well done. It keeps a lot of the energy of the original, and doesn't lose much other than volume.
It's mostly a feature for the flute and oboe, but it's a nice piece and I did have a few important moments, so I am posting it.

Hey! Great to hear from you again. *hugs* I could absolutely hear the "dancing fairies" aspects of it. In a way, the fast staccato parts of it seem like Rossini's take on Mendelssohn's "Midsummer Night's Dream" Scherzo, which is literally supposed to sound like fairies dancing. ^o^
cant wait to hear them...if i randomly start commenting on your older stuff, dun worry >,> i lost all my stuff when my laptop was stolen and am going back thru everyone's galleries...i keep getting a bunch of comments about why im going thru their stuff from a bajillion years ago XD
