A castle like mansion built in Cleveland Ohio in the 1800's, Franklin Castle stands at the head of a T intersection on 4308 Franklin Blvd, and is considered one of the most iconic buildings of Cleveland's west side.
Franklin Castle is also considered "The most haunted building in America", though of course this is up to debate, and though brief, my own personal visit game me no indication of haunting. I would say that the Castle's visual aesthetic adds a large portion of the legend that surrounds it. And of course that the Wife, Mother, and all children (all at young ages) of the man who built it died inside, many of the deaths of which are in question as no autopsy or investigation was carried out upon any of them.
The Castle is a four story building, constructed mostly out of stone. The windows give the deception that the building isn't all that large in comparison to a normal house, but they are rather large windows on a very large house, and in person it is quite a site to behold. The first floor goes down a few feet into the ground, and is often mistaken as the basement, though there is a true basement below it, and the front entrance leads up a small flight of stairs directly into the second floor.
