My 2 year old loves this show and his Shaun plushie. I’ve seen a lot of the episodes multiple times now and noticed all the small little gay moments as well as broader stuff like how these two are more physically affectionate with each other, Shaun’s able to calm Bitzer down when he’s frantic ect. that kind of thing. Good to know I’m not the only crazy bitch to see it. My suspicion is that the little gay moments were just the creators being “funny” IE: two dudes sleeping in the same bed, being physically affectionate, ball room dancing together etc.. is thought to be funny and absurd. But honestly it’s so low key and since there’s no dialogue or other characters to contradict it (IE: shove in a female love interest just to pull a no homo) the end result is that they just wrote a gay pairing in their show.

Point is authorial intent can eat my ass these two are gay and I love it, and I’m happy this is my sons first favorite cartoon. It’s cute and funny and wholesome.
