I really need to make more of a habit of studying from real life/photos. I often look at references and do quick sketches to figure out anatomy for my creatures but that's not the same as a long in depth study. I did this one to practice rendering as its something I want to build up confidence in. Also a couple of these doves hang out in my parents garden, not seen them in a good while cause of covid. Can't wait to see them and my parents again after all this.
