Interesting spell indeed! ^.^
The one problem I see with self bastinado in general, manual or arcane, is that you can stop at any time though...
Would be fun if the spell could be "programmed" in a way that would make it impossible to be stopped/dispelled until a certain number of lashes has been delivered. :P

I think there could be a variant with summoning and de-summoning genies (1 or more at once) from some immaterial realm which are tightly dedicated to their master-summoner. He or she could teach them even to do programmed stuff like imperative falaka intermediated with tickling and massage.
Including the recreative falaka type for the master themselves.

Yeah, that could work. Still prefer the thought of the spell, or the genie, taking complete control over the situation, once cast/summoned. Must be the sadist/masochist inside me talking. XD
I imagined some soft-soled mage apprentice, casting the spell out of curiousity, thinking that ten lashes would be an exciting experience, only to then mess the spell up and accidentally adding a zero to the total number of lashes at the end. :P

The East is a delicate matter. Genies are the things from the East. Such errors like the extra figures or the misplaced decimal points are only the tip of iceberg of the unwanted surprises. The misunderstanding of the smart language of the eastern creatures is a common cause of uncomfortable feelings in the soft appendages of their wanna-be falaka masters. It should be noted that genies themselves do not posses any body extremities resembling those of humans or furs. And they have not familiar of how much uncomfortable the footed ones could feel.
I like the thought of that a lot! They'd deliver unimaginable pain to their summoner's soles, without having even the slightest clue about how it feels to them... :P
Can you imagine the face of that mage apprentice, who endured the painful ten lashes they think they "ordered", only to then get hit again and again... realizing then that they messed up the spell royaly. ^.^
